Super Powerful Against...
heartworm
Heartworm disease is a serious and sometimes, fatal condition. The disease is carried from infected dogs to healthy dogs by mosquitoes and both indoor and outdoor dogs, in many areas of Australia, are at risk. It can go undetected for many years and by the time it is diagnosed, the worms may have casued significant damage to the heart and lungs.
roundworm
Heavy infestations of roundworm usually only occur with young puppies. Most healthy older dogs develop an immunity to roundworm and show no signs of infection. A high percentage of puppies are born with roundworm infections.
Dogs can become infected with roundworms by ingesting eggs from a contaminated environment. Roundworms can also infect children that play with puppies or in dirt contaminated with dog faeces. The larvae can cause liver, lung, brain or eye damage if a child is infected.
tapeworm
There are six different types of tapeworm that affect dogs. The most common type is flea tapeworm. Infestation often causes no signs, but can cause weight loss, inflammation of the intestines and poor coat condition if there are a large number of worms present.
Tapeworms are transmitted to the dog via an intermediate host. In the case of the flea tapeworm, the eggs are carried by fleas, which are ingested by the dog during grooming.
Dogs become infected by other types of tapeworm by eating meat or offal containing immature stages of the parasite.
whipworm
Dogs infected with the whipworms often show no signs od disease, but in heavy infectons, diarrhoea, weight loss and unthriftiness may occur. Dogs become infected by the ingestion of eggs from a contaminated environment. Whipworm eggs are very resilient and can withstand freezing temperatures and survive in the soil for years.
hookworm
Hookworms are bloodsucking intestinal worms that can cause severe anaemia and serious gastrointestinal disease in dogs.
The worms attach to the lining of the small intestine where they suck blood from the dog. They lay eggs which are passed out in the dog's faeces and thses eggs develop into larvae which are able to reinfect dogs. Puppies can also be infected through their mother's milk.
